As a high-profile Democrat, you might think John Kerry's priority right now would be to take a duvet day.
After
all, he's going to lose his job - and the opposing side have won
control of the White House and held their power in the House and the
Senate.
But the Secretary of State is back at work, and he's told
everyone at the State Department to "welcome our incoming colleagues
warmly and professionally" for the sake of a "seamless transition".
In a memo to employees, he also said: "The pace of events across the globe does not allow for timeouts".
